What is the process involved in making a corporate film?
A: The process is broken down into 3 stages: pre-production, which includes, creative planning with the client, scriptwriting and storyboarding. The 2nd stage is the production, whereby all material, visual and audio, is recorded. The 3rd and final stage is post-production. This involves assembling all the media into a creative and engaging film.
How long does it take?
A: Depending on the nature of the film and its content, the production process can take anywhere from days to months. Typically on a film with basic content and a standard running time, it will take 1 week for every minute of the final film. A 3 minute film will require 3 weeks of total production time, from start to finish.
Who is eligible for a company film?
A: Anyone is eligible. The internet and accessibility to digital media has opened the doors for all companies around the world to access to what was once an elite and very expensive medium.
How long should my film be?
A: We believe that less is more. The idea of a corporate film is to give a taster of what the company offers, while leaving room for the viewer to learn more. Your film can be anywhere from under a minute to one hour long. There is always a fine line between what is too long for a viewer to sit through and what is too short that the information cannot fit. Typically, the average corporate film lasts between 3-6 minutes.
How expensive is a corporate film to make?
A: This largely depends on the nature of the film and the content. Prices are typically based on the number of filming locations required and the final length of the film. The price can be controlled by the content required and by limiting the number of locations. Each production estimate is unique, and we are always willing to work around our clients’ budgets.
What benefits will I receive from a well made film?
A: The film is a visual representation of your company and a well made piece will reflect very highly on the company’s perception and identity. Additional benefits include a significant increase in awareness and interest through a compelling format.
Although it is a more complex medium, the benefits of a well made corporate film are exponential. The film in its essence is designed to bring more business to the client, therefore it needs to be considered not as an an expense but as an important investment that will generate interest and business for years to come.
How and where can I use my film once it has been completed?
A: Once completed, a corporate film can be used in a variety of platforms. These include: company websites, DVDs, television, brochure inserts, office screens, trade show booths, presentations, DVD business cards, and many more.
What type of equipment is used in the production?
A: All equipment is broadcast quality HD digital video. This means that the image is clean and crisp and 100% professional grade. We also use an array of special equipment to increase the overall production value, such as dollies and tracks, steadicam, cranes and more.
Who writes the script?
A: We will typically write the script based on ideas and suggestions from the client during the pre-production stage. However, we are open to work with material submitted by the clients and are happy to work with our clients directly to produce the best quality.
How much input can a client have during the production?
A: Our clients can choose. We are trained professionals with years of experience in this medium, but should the client prefer to dictate to us exactly how they want the project to look from start to finish, that is not a problem at all. We always welcome any input the client may offer. After all, it’s your film.
How many people does it take to make a corporate film?
A: This depends on the size of the production and the locations required. A small film can be made by a single person, whereas a larger production will require a director, producer, camera assistant, lighting assistant and a sound engineer.
How does the payment system work?
A: Upon approval of the project contract, a 50% deposit is required prior to production. Once the project has been completed, approved, and submitted, the remaining 50% balance will be due.
How long will a corporate film last?
A: The shelf life of a corporate film is usually around 5-10 years. This obviously will vary according to the type of company, what is being offered, and the content of the film.
What about updates?
A: Within the first 12 months after the project has been submitted, a free update is allowed at any time as the client dictates. *Restrictions apply. Please see terms and conditions for more information. The final film will also be archived for protection for a period of 2 years, this will protect the client in the event of loss or damage.
Who keeps the raw material once the project has been completed?
A: The client may keep all of the raw material upon completion of the project. This does not include any stock material however, only material pertaining to the company. This material can be used in any capacity the client wishes.
